Roman Villa Otrang
One of the best-preserved Roman villa complexes north of the Alps — with original mosaics.
Just outside the gates of Bitburg near Fließem lies Villa Otrang: a Roman country estate with over 60 rooms, whose dimensions impress even today. Four magnificent mosaic floors are preserved in their original state — protected in pavilions from the 19th century.
Underfloor heating, bathing wing, farm buildings: the complex shows how comfortable Roman country life was. Combined with Trier's monuments, that makes for the perfect Roman double day.
