One of the largest castle complexes west of the Rhine — towering above the Our valley.
Perched on a rocky spur above the Our stands Vianden Castle — built between the 11th and 14th centuries and today completely restored, it is one of Europe's most impressive castle complexes. The knights' hall, chapel and armoury make the tour a journey through time.
Victor Hugo once fell in love with the little town below; his former residence is now a museum. In summer, a chairlift takes you to the opposite slope — offering the finest views of castle and valley. Half an hour's drive from the southern Eifel.
