Between Serrig, Saarburg and Kanzem, the Saar flows gently and wide through the wine valley — perfect conditions for canoeing, kayaking and stand-up paddling, also for beginners and families. Hire stations in and around Saarburg get you onto the water; from there you glide past steep vineyards, towpaths and old locks.
From the water, the valley reveals itself at its most beautiful: vineyards are reflected in the river, herons stand on the bank — and in Saarburg you can conclude your tour with an ice cream or a glass of Riesling at the water's edge. If you want more, combine the paddling route with the Saar cycle path to make a round trip.
