Between Marktkreuz and Petrusbrunnen lies the heart of Trier's old town: the Hauptmarkt is considered one of the most beautiful market squares in Germany, lined with Renaissance, Baroque and half-timbered façades.
On weekdays, flower and fruit stalls fill the square, surrounded by cafés and wine bars. From here, everything is within walking distance: Porta Nigra, the Cathedral and the pedestrian zone's charming streets.
