Germany's oldest bishop's church, directly beside the Gothic Church of Our Lady.
The Dom St. Peter is Germany's oldest episcopal church — its origins dating back to a Roman palace complex from the 4th century. Those who look closely can still recognise ancient masonry in the walls; inside, Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque styles alternate.
Right next door stands the Liebfrauenkirche, one of Germany's earliest Gothic churches — together they are part of the UNESCO World Heritage. The cloister between the churches is a peaceful oasis in the heart of the old town.
